Osimhen would join Man United ‘100%’ in January move - Ferdinand backs Super Eagles starfor Old Trafford move
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen would be fully open to joining the Red Devils if the club made a serious move for him.
Ferdinand, speaking on his Rio Ferdinand Presents podcast, said he was convinced Osimhen would “100 per cent” accept an offer from Manchester United, reigniting long-running speculation linking the Galatasaray forward with a Premier League switch.
Osimhen has been repeatedly linked with top English clubs over the past few seasons following his prolific form in Italy and Turkey.
What Ferdinand said
During the podcast discussion with former Ghana international Asamoah Gyan, Ferdinand spoke glowingly about Osimhen’s qualities and questioned why elite clubs had not moved decisively for him.
“Victor Osimhen loves scoring goals, he plays with his heart, and gives everything,” Ferdinand said.
He added, “I’m surprised big clubs didn’t go for him in this transfer window.”
Ferdinand went a step further, expressing complete confidence in Osimhen’s willingness to move to Old Trafford if the opportunity arose.
“Osimhen will come to United. If United offer to take Osimhen, he would go, 100%,” he stated.
Also, Gyan suggested that Manchester United could be the right destination for the Nigerian striker, pointing to the club’s stature and need for a reliable goalscorer.
“Hopefully, I’m feeling Manchester United too, only if he wants to come because of their history and everything,” Gyan noted.
