At the heart of it all was Galatasaray’s record-breaking move for Victor Osimhen, which sent shockwaves across Europe.

Leading the charge was Galatasaray, who spent a record €148 million to reshape their squad. The headline signing was Victor Osimhen from Napoli for €75 million.

Victor Osimhen signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray.

Galatasaray also added Monaco’s Wilfried Singo for €30 million and Trabzonspor’s Ugurcan Cakir for €27 million. Their investment ranked them 14th among all clubs globally, breaking both club and national records in the process.

The Super Lig’s big four dominate spending

While Galatasaray made the loudest statement, their rivals were not far behind in the summer transfer market.

Fenerbahce spent €87 million, the largest budget in their history, while Besiktas invested €38 million, also a club record, and Trabzonspor committed €24 million.

Together, the “big four” clubs accounted for 96% of all Turkish transfer spending, amounting to €297 million. Besiktas’s spending is set to rise further, with €38 million still due next season for the transfers of Orkun Kokcu and Tammy Abraham.

The window placed Türkiye firmly on the global transfer map, with their outlay contrasting sharply against the average per-player fee of €1.3 million compared to England’s €5 million.

Globally, transfer activity surged to an all-time high of $9.76 billion, led by the Premier League’s $3.19 billion.
