'Osimhen is also a very valuable player for us' - Galatasaray star praises Victor in 5-2 victory against Juventus
Gabriel Sara has praised teammate Victor Osimhen following Galatasaray’s emphatic 5-2 victory over Juventus F.C. in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Turkish champions produced a dominant display at RAMS Park. Sara opened the scoring in the 15th minute, setting the tone for an electric evening in Istanbul.
What Sara said
The Brazilian midfielder later provided an assist and was deservedly named Man of the Match for his all-around performance.
“It’s an incredible reward, but the team's effort was the most important thing,” Sara told the club’s official website.
He added, “I’m happy about my goal too. I worked very hard for it. We’re having an amazing night.”
While Sara grabbed the headlines early on, Osimhen proved equally decisive in the second half. The Nigerian forward registered two key assists, first setting up Noah Lang for Galatasaray’s fourth goal before teeing up substitute Sacha Boey to complete the scoring.
Sara was quick to acknowledge the striker’s importance to the team.
“Osimhen is also a very valuable player for us. We knew it would be very difficult. Football can be very unforgiving. We will be playing in Italy, and it will be a tough challenge. We need to be careful and continue our success,” he added.
Despite the commanding first-leg advantage, Galatasaray remain cautious ahead of the second leg in Italy.
