Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen was back to his creative best with another assist for Galatasaray

Although Victor Osimhen was unable to get on the scoresheet, the Super Eagles star was a vital presence in attack for Galatasaray, with two assists as Galatasaray walloped Juventus 5-2.

The Super Eagles striker provided telling touches for Galatasaray's fourth and fifth goals and was a constant menace against his old Serie A rivals. It was the second time in less than a week that Osimhen provided a brace of assists having never done so in his career before.

Galatasaray vs Juventus: How it happened

The hosts began brightly, with Yunus Akgün narrowly missing early on, before capitalising on Kenan Yıldız’s loss of possession. Gabriel Sara punished the error to give Gala the lead inside 15 minutes.

Juventus responded almost instantly, as Teun Koopmeiners converted on the rebound after Uğurcan Çakır denied Pierre Kalulu.

Chances flowed at both ends, with Victor Osimhen going close and Michele Di Gregorio producing key saves. However, Koopmeiners struck again before half-time, combining cleverly with Weston McKennie to fire Juve ahead at the break.

The second half belonged to Galatasaray. Noa Lang tapped in after Di Gregorio parried Barış Yılmaz’s effort, before Davinson Sánchez bundled in a free-kick to restore the hosts’ advantage.

Juventus’ woes deepened when Cabal was sent off for a second yellow card, and Osimhen soon capitalised on defensive hesitation to set up Lang for another simple finish.

Substitute Sacha Boey added a stunning late goal to seal a commanding win for Okan Buruk’s side. With just one defeat in their last seven meetings against Juventus, Galatasaray head to Turin full of confidence, while the Italians face mounting pressure after another disappointing result.
