Barcelona star Aitana Bonmati has won the Women’s Ballon d’Or after her teammate Alexia Putellas won the last two editions of the award.
The 24-year-old was presented the award at the Theatre du Chalet in Paris, rewarding her campaign for Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

Bonmati completes Barcelona hattrick
The midfielder’s award shows Barcelona’s continued dominance in women’s football, as a player from the club’s women's team has now won the last three editions of the Ballon d’Or.
The club have also won two of the last three UEFA Women’s Champions League titles and has played in the last four finals.
With Putellas sidelined due to injury, Bonmati truly blossomed last season and assumed the mantle, leading the Blaugrana to a Champions League triumph, beating Wolfsburg in the final.
The Spaniard was shoo-in was award after the UWCL win, but her exploits over the summer where she led her nation to their first-ever Women’s World Cup trophy all but confirmed her as the winner of the award.
