Andre Onana may be enjoying a fresh start at Trabzonspor, but the Cameroon international is still determined to revive his Manchester United career once his loan spell ends, according to The i Paper.

Despite strong interest from Turkey, France and Saudi Arabia, and even the possibility of moving to another Premier League club, Onana remains hopeful of proving himself again at Old Trafford.

United have moved on, but Onana has not given up

Trabzonspor would like to keep Onana beyond this season, yet the goalkeeper’s priority is to reclaim his spot at Manchester United.

That ambition faces a major obstacle: reports indicate United have “effectively moved on,” with Senne Lammens now firmly established as the new No.1 under Rúben Amorim.

Once pushed from second to third choice after Lammens’ deadline-day arrival, Onana accepted a loan move he described as necessary for playing time and confidence.

His start in Turkey has been strong, making eight saves on his Trabzonspor debut, a performance that reaffirmed his belief he can still operate at the top level.

However, he is realistic, and if Manchester United close the door permanently, he is ready to consider Premier League alternatives.

Onana keen to rewrite Manchester United chapter

The Cameroonian goalkeeper’s determination to return stems from a desire to rewrite a turbulent chapter at Old Trafford.

Signed in 2023 as David de Gea’s successor, the goalkeeper endured a difficult first season marked by costly Champions League errors and several high-profile domestic mistakes.

Manchester United’s shock Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town this season accelerated the board’s pursuit of Lammens, and Onana ultimately lost both fan confidence and the trust of manager Ruben Amorim.

Still just 29 and convinced his best years lie ahead, Onana sees the current loan not as an exit route but as a reset. However, whether United agree remains uncertain.
