Nothing makes me mad – Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface
Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has stunned fans by revealing an enviable emotional resilience off the pitch.
On his recently launched podcast, Culture League, the 24‑year‑old Bayer Leverkusen star spoke candidly about being unfazed by criticism.
‘There is nothing you want to say to me that will get me mad,’ Boniface said, adding he’ll “laugh and keep doing whatever I’m doing because this makes me happy.”
He explained that being the “memes guy” brings him joy, adding: “If not for some certain things…the kind of things I would be posting…”
His message was clear – no amount of external pressure can rattle him.
Balancing banter with seriousness
The Leverkusen ace made a light-hearted confession about his banter-filled attitude after making history with Bayer Leverkusen, by helping the club win their first-ever Bundesliga title.
“Sometime I said to Jeremy [Frimpong], how did we win the league? Because if you see the attitude of the boys…then we started playing draw, then the seriousness is coming, then the media started talking… but we know these things, we are used to this.”
He revealed a strong awareness of how to switch gears, from joker in the changing room to deadly serious on the pitch.
Yet, Boniface insists that retaining elements of humour isn’t just a coping mechanism, it’s simply part of his identity.
