Not the most important thing — Fernandes reacts to Ronaldo's generous gift against Turkey
Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes has praised Cristiano Ronaldo for his selfless assist to help the Selecao defeat Turkey 3-0 in their second group game at EURO 2024.
Ronaldo put the team first by squaring the ball to Fernandes when he had an easy chance to score his first goal of the tournament.
That singular act has gotten the Portugal captain endless plaudits, with some commenting on his maturity and desire to be more of a team player.

Fernandes said this about Ronaldo after the game (via TotalCristiano on X)
“Everyone loves to score goals, but that is not the most important thing.
"That is reflected in my goal, because Cristiano is our best goalscorer, and when he could score, he passed it to me.”
Portugal have won their first two games to earn 6 points and join Germany, and Spain in the knockout round.
