No Pressure - Yamal opens up on iconic No. 10 Shirt
Lamine Yamal has asserted that he feels "no pressure" wearing the iconic shirt.
Yamal officially committed his future to Barcelona until June 2031, taking on the legendary No. 10 jersey once graced by Lionel Messi.
What Yamal said
In a press conference at Camp Nou, the young winger said he has a clear focus, asserting he feels "no pressure" wearing the iconic shirt.
He said, "What this renewal means is that I'll continue playing for the club of my life, I'll continue enjoying it. I'm under no pressure; I'll continue enjoying myself with a different number."
Yamal, who turned 18 just recently, described the moment as a "dream come true.”
He revealed he is "indifferent" to both praise and criticism unless it originates from his inner circle.
"The truth is that I'm indifferent to both criticism and praise, unless it comes from my family or people very close to me, because otherwise, one day I'll be very high and the next I'll be very low," he explained.
Yamal has played 106 matches for Barcelona, scoring 25 goals, and has celebrated multiple trophies, including two La Liga titles and a Copa del Rey.
