An unexpected narrative unfolded in Benin City as Kwara United came within minutes of a famous result against Bendel Insurance in a riveting four-goal thriller.

Bendel Insurance vs Kwara United
The Benin Arsenals went into the clash with a record of five clean sheets in the last five matches.
However, with their skipper and goalkeeper, Obasogie off on national duty with the Super Eagles, the FA Cup conceded more goals against Kwara than they had ket in all season.
The Afonja Warriors twice took the lead, with goals from Sadeeq Yusuf Ahmat’s 14th-minute opener and Godwin Oshagbemi, who restored the lead after Stephen Sodje initially cancelled out Ahmat’s opener.
Ahmat’s opener for Kwara United was the first goal the Benin Arsenals had conceded in five matches in the NPFL.
Insurance survive scare
With the clean sheet record gone, Insurance were in danger of losing their 21-match unbeaten record at home.
However, in added time, their blushes were saved when Ismael Seriki’s late header snatched a share of the spoils for the home side.
With the result, Insurance dropped two points at home for only the second time this season.
