Nigeria to play Egypt

Nigeria's Super Eagles will play Egypt's Pharaohs in a friendly match on December 14 at the Cairo International Stadium, according to Ahram.

The fixture will serve as a crucial warm-up for both nations just seven days before the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in Morocco.

The Egyptian Football Association announced on Sunday that a friendly match had been arranged at the request of their head coach, Hossam Hassan.

He is looking to fine-tune his squad for the upcoming continental tournament. There has been no official statement from the Nigeria Football Federation regarding the match.

The encounter is expected to be a major spectacle, pitting two of Africa's most prolific forwards against each other: Nigeria's Victor Osimhen and Egypt's Mohamed Salah. 

Both superstars are vying for the one major honour that has eluded them in their illustrious careers, the AFCON title.
