Nigeria's D’Tigress secured an 83-47 victory over Cameroon in the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIBA Women's AfroBasket, held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, on Thursday, July 31.
The win propels the four-time defending champions into the semifinals extending their unbeaten streak in the competition to an impressive 27 games.

The D’Tigress' journey to this quarterfinal started by defeating Rwanda 92-45 in their opening group game.
They followed this with a hard-fought 60-55 victory over Mozambique in their second group match securing their advancement to the quarterfinals.
Cameroon, meanwhile, had to earn their spot by overcoming Angola in a playoff.
From the opening tip-off, Nigeria asserted their authority, taking the first quarter 21-9.
The second quarter saw a tighter contest, ending in a 20-20 tie, but Nigeria carried an 11-point lead into halftime.
The game’s turning point arrived in the third quarter, where the D’Tigress unleashed a devastating 25-2 surge.
They sealed the 33-point blowout win by outscoring Cameroon 17-16 in the fourth quarter.
Top performers for Nigeria included Amy Okonkwo, who led with 18 points and 6 rebounds.
Nicole Enabosi with 12 points and 3 rebounds, Victoria Macaulay with 12 points and 4 rebounds, and Elizabeth Balogun contributing 11 points and 5 rebounds.
This win not only secures Nigeria’s spot in the semifinals but also guarantees their qualification for the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament.
