Niger has promised to fix their AFCON qualifier against Uganda, claims Tanzania head coach
Tanzania National Team head coach Adel Amrouche has made serious allegations regarding Niger's assistant coaches, claiming that they promised to intentionally lose their final 2023 AFCON qualifier against the Uganda Cranes.
This alleged promise was made after Tanzania defeated Niger 1-0, putting them in a favourable position to secure the remaining spot in Group F with seven points.
Algeria's victory over the Uganda Cranes in the other group game further aided Tanzania's chances.
Amrouche claims that one of the assistants confronted him after and revealed what he feels is a sinister plan against the rules of football.
“Their assistant coach told me that they’re going to help Uganda and give them the game because he was unhappy,” Amrouche made the allegations to the journalists after the match.
The Algerian promised that Tanzania would forward the case if any unethical actions to manipulate the game scheduled for September 4th is noticed.
“We lost to Uganda here [Dar Es Salaam], and no one said anything, but we win [fairly], and this is what [they want to do]. If they go ahead and do it, then that’s not fair play; we’re going to act against them.,” he cautioned.
