Newcastle to smash transfer record for Barcelona star with Champions League qualification close

Barcelona winger Raphinha has had a bit of a mixed season for the Blaugrana and the club are reportedly open to cashing in on him for the right price. 

According to Spanish publication Sport via SportWitness, Newcastle United are willing to spend up to €80 million on the 26-year-old.

The report further states that Newcastle are in the market for a new right-sided attacker and with Barcelona pursuing a move for Lionel Messi this summer, Raphinha's place in the starting team could suffer as a result.

The Brazil international has 10 goals and 12 assists to his name across all competitions and he will certainly prove to be an upgrade on the likes of Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy.

Newcastle are currently third in the Premer League and are now just one win away from confirming Champions League football for next season which would be an outstanding achievement for Eddie Howe.
