Newcastle's Brazilian midfielder Joelinton gets first call-up

Newcastle midfielder Joelinton has been handed his first call-up by Brazil after an outstanding season in the Premier League.

Joelinton has been rewarded for his fine form with a Brazil call-up, his first for his country.

The 26-year-old who played as an attacker before the arrival of Eddie Howe has blossomed in the No 8 role in midfield.

The last 18 months have seen a staggering turnaround in his career, going from an underperforming attacker to a dependable energetic attacking midfielder.

He made 32 league appearances as Newcastle finished in the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.
