‘Na Uzoho cousin’ — Fans troll Ghana’s Richard Ofori after disastrous AFCON error
Ghana’s Richard Ofori has come in for severe trolling after literally singlehandedly leaving the Black Stars with almost no chance of reaching the second round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Ofori error costs Ghana two points against Mozambique
The Black Stars were left with a slim chance of making it to the round of 16 after finishing third in the group following a 2-2 with Mozambique, with the Mambas scoring a heartbreaking 94th-minute equaliser.
Ghana were cruising to a 2-0 win as late as the 89th minute until all-time appearance record holder Andre Ayew conceded a penalty for a late handball.
The 2-1 score set up a tense finale for Ghana, and the tensions apparently got to the Black Stars’ Ofori, who made a comical error with time running out.
With a wayward shot from a Mozambican player headed for the safety of a goal kick for Ghana, Ofori inexplicably decided to touch the ball and concede a corner kick with less than three minutes of play left.

From the resulting corner kick, Mozambique star Reinildo Mandava rose highest to the box to score an incredible equaliser to cause Ghanaian heartbreak at the death.
Ofori trolled for horrific error against Mozambique
After the game, fans mercilessly piled on Ofori, comparing him to error-prone Nigerian goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, who has since lost his place as the Super Eagles’ number one.
Ghana’s no 1 Ofori has officially dethroned Uzoho as the worst goalkeeper a "Once" great footballing nation should have. Imaging throwing all three points away for lack of concentration 🤦♂️

Some users on Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter even went as far as suggesting that the two goalkeepers are related by blood and goalkeeping errors.

Ofori and Uzoho are brothers

The loss leaves Ghana in third place in Group B on two points and with little chance of making the round of 16.
If the Black Stars fail to reach the second round, it would be the second consecutive time in a row that they have failed to qualify from the group stage after exiting at the same point in the last tournament.
