Gianni Infantino, the president of FIFA, landed in Bangkok on Sunday in advance of this week's 74th FIFA Congress 2024.
Over 3,000 delegates representing 211 member associations are scheduled to attend the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center event from May 13–17.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino played a friendly football match with previous game legends on Thursday in Bangkok, Thailand, as part of the preparations for the 74th FIFA Congress.
Legendary athletes including Luis Figo, Cafu, El-Hadji Diouf, Emmanuel Adebayor, Mikel Obi, Andriy Shevchenko, and Clarence Seedorf represented their respective confederations, while Infantino led the FIFA team.
After South Korea, Japan, Australia, and Qatar, Thailand is the first Asian nation and the sixth in the Asia-Pacific area to be selected to host this esteemed event.
Infantino presided over the Congress, which is being attended by the leaders of the six continental governing bodies.
While there was a vote on Friday to determine who will host the 2027 Women's World Cup—Brazil, Belgium, the Netherlands, or Germany—the event concentrated on a number of concerns pertaining to football.
Brazil won the hosting rights and Obi posted about the congress on social media with pictures.
