Messi and Busquets: Inter Miami unveil former Barcelona stars in style
Inter Miami has officially revealed that Sergio Busquets, a former teammate of Lionel Messi's at Barcelona, will also be joining the squad.
This news comes weeks after Messi made his choice to join Inter Miami officially on June 7.
After Busquets announced in May that he would not be renewing his contract with Barcelona, he decided to continue his career in the USA.
Nigerian Freak Giannis Antetokounmpo is already excited about Messi joining Inter Miami and playing in the MLS.
Messi and Busquets unveiled at Inter Miami
Inter Miami, a Major Soccer League team, hosted a grand unveiling ceremony for two of their newest recruits on Sunday night at the DRV PNK Stadium.
A dramatic entrance for seven-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi was also observed by the tens of thousands of supporters at the club's home stadium for Sergio Busquets.
While Messi received the No. 10 jersey from Inter Miami, the 35-year-old Spaniard was given the No. 5 one.
According to the Mirror, he said, "This is a special and exciting opportunity that I'm very excited to take. I'm looking forward to this next step in my career with Inter Miami.
'I was impressed by the club when I came with Barcelona last year, and now I'm happy and ready to represent the club myself. I cannot wait to help bring the success that this ambitious club strives for.
Messi was unveiled after he went viral for taking his family to shop at Publix.
Busquets has an agreement in place with Miami through the 2025 campaign, the same as Messi's.
Alongside Messi, Busquets is expected to make his Major League Soccer debut during the Leagues Cup game against Cruz Azul.
