Mbappe and Camavinga Injury Scares Rock Real Madrid Ahead of Man City Showdown
Real Madrid's preparations for their crucial Champions League clash against Manchester City have been thrown into disarray, with star forward Kylian Mbappe and midfielder Eduardo Camavinga emerging as major injury doubts.
Mbappe was notably absent from the team's final training session at Valdebebas on Tuesday morning due to a muscular problem. The French superstar is now set to undergo further tests to determine if he can feature in Wednesday's high-stakes encounter at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Adding to the club's woes, Eduardo Camavinga also missed the session with an ankle issue, making him another significant doubt for the match.
These potential absences compound an already difficult situation for manager Xabi Alonso, who is grappling with a lengthy injury list that includes key players like Trent Alexander-Arnold, ruled out for two months with a torn thigh muscle.
The mounting fitness concerns come at a challenging time for Alonso, whose team has managed just two wins in their last eight competitive matches.
"We are all in the same boat," the manager stated in a press conference on Tuesday.
"We have to go through positive and negative times. We need to believe the next game is an opportunity, and tomorrow we have a very exciting game for all of us."
The coach also affirmed that he retains the backing of the club's hierarchy. "Communication is constant," Alonso added.
"We have unity; we are all together in this. I have a good relationship with them."
