Mason Greenwood caused us problems, we couldn't stop him - Griezmann cries out

Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann has admitted that Getafe forward Mason Greenwood gave his side problems following a thrilling 3-3 draw in a LALIGA clash on Tuesday. 

A Greenwood-inspired Getafe left the Metropolitano with a share of the spoils after coming from behind in remarkable fashion. 

Griezmann was the obvious star of the encounter after he netted an excellent brace for the home side.

The 31-year-old scored in either half, including a penalty to give Atletico what had looked like a comfortable lead at 3-1 in the 69th minute. 

However, despite his efforts, his goals were not enough to give Diego Simeone’s men all three points as Getafe fought back with two late goals.

On loan Manchester United star, Greenwood was involved in the build-up to all three Getafe goals to help them steal a valuable point on the road.

After the match, Griezmann admitted that the 22-year-old was unstoppable and that failure to handle him cost his side two points. 

“Mason Greenwood was really causing us problems in the second half,” Griezmann was quoted to have said after the game.  “We couldn’t stop him and it cost us the game,” he added. 

Following Griezmann’s statement, a look at the player’s stats from the match showed that the England star was excellent for Getafe.

He completed the most dribbles (4), created three chances, made three key passes, and had eight touches inside the Atletico box.

Greenwood also worked hard off the ball, with four recoveries and one interception. 

The United loanee has scored three goals and assisted four in 14 matches this season in the LALIGA.
