United signed Antony from Ajax in 2022 for €100 million, a deal overseen by Van der Sar, then Ajax's CEO.
Since his move, the forward has failed to live up to expectations, leading to limited playing time at Old Trafford.
The Brazilian winger has been out of favour since the Portuguese manager's arrival and was loaned to Real Betis.
Van der Sar speaks on Antony's situation at Old Trafford
Van der Sar believes that Man United flop Antony deserves another chance at Old Trafford, as reported by Sportal.
"Fortunately, I'm no longer in a position to dictate which players the club should sign, but they're on the right track if they bring in a more experienced striker," the former Dutch international said at a public event hosted by a video game company.
"The two players they acquired during the winter break were good, so they should do well," he noted, before discussing the situations of Garnacho, who is reportedly on his way out, and Antony, who spent the last few months in Seville.
"Maybe Garnacho will leave. I'd say 'bring back Antony,' but I don't know if that's realistic," he added, referring to the 25-year-old, whom Betis reportedly wanted to keep permanently after a successful loan spell: 26 appearances, nine goals, and six assists for Manuel Pellegrini's side.
After falling out of favour with Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, Antony spent the latter half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Real Betis.
