Man United rejects Barcelona’s request to cut Marcus Rashford's transfer fee
Manchester United reportedly shut down any attempts by Barcelona to renegotiate the agreed fee for Marcus Rashford’s permanent transfer.
Rashford, who joined the Catalan giants on a season-long loan, has rediscovered his best form at Camp Nou.
The 28-year-old forward has scored 10 goals in 34 appearances, playing a key role in Barcelona’s attacking resurgence this season.
His move to Spain came after a difficult spell at Old Trafford. Rashford was sidelined by former United manager Ruben Amorim in December 2024 over disciplinary concerns.
A subsequent six-month loan to Aston Villa helped revive his career, earning him a recall to the England national team and ultimately paving the way for his switch to Barcelona.
United refuses to budge on the agreed fee
As part of the loan agreement, Barcelona secured a €30 million (£26m) option to make the deal permanent.
However, reports indicate that the Spanish club have been exploring the possibility of lowering the fee due to their ongoing financial constraints.
According to Sky Sports News, Manchester United have made their stance clear, the agreed purchase option will not be renegotiated under any circumstances.
Journalist Danyal Khan reported that the Premier League club are firm in its position and will not entertain discussions over reducing the fee.
