Manchester United have reportedly initiated talks with Benfica for the summer signing of Gonzalo Ramos.
The Red Devils are expected to make a significant investment in the striker position this coming window, and the high price tag on the Portugal World Cup star has reportedly not deterred them.
Ramos to Manchester United
The Mirror, in a recent report, claimed the Red Devils are keen on landing the 21-year-old and are ready to bid up to £100 to match the high demands of the Eagles, who famously drive a hard bargain, with the transfers of Darwin Nunez and Enzo Fernandes coming to mind in recent times.
The fee will effectively become the Red Devils' record transfer fee, surpassing the £89 million paid to Juventus for Paul Pogba in 2016.
However, Harry Kane remains Erik Ten Hag's top target and a deal for him is also expected to require a huge financial outlay. it remains to be seen if they will move to land both players in the summer with the club's finances, and takeover process still unresolved.
