Man United legend Carlos Tevez rushed to the hospital after complaining of chest pain
Tevez's professional career spanned 20 years, during which he represented Boca Juniors, Corinthians, West Ham United, Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus, and Shanghai Shenhua.
He won the Premier League three times, along with two Serie A titles and the 2008 Champions League.
The 40-year-old has undergone a test at the Sanatorio La Trinidad in San Isidro on Tuesday and will remain there as a precaution while further assessments are carried out.
Club Statement on Tevez
According to a statement from Independiente, as reported by the Athletic, “Our coach, Carlos Tevez, entered the La Trinidad Sanatorium in San Isidro with chest pain.
“They carried out the corresponding tests and they were satisfactory. Tomorrow, he will continue with a series of tests scheduled in advance as part of a general check-up that is usually carried out.”
The club provided a second update an hour later, stating, “Carlos Tevez will be hospitalized as a precaution until the corresponding tests are completed.”
The forward, who made 76 appearances for Argentina and played in the 2006 and 2010 World Cup tournaments, retired in June 2022.
He took his first managerial role with Primera Division side Rosario Central later that month before moving to Independiente last summer.
Independiente finished sixth in the Primera Division after the first phase of fixtures and is set to return to action on May 12 against Talleres Cordoba.
