Luis Diaz close to Liverpool return after lengthy spell on sidelines
Luis Diaz has been out of action since October when he suffered a knee injury in the game against Arsenal. He had become an integral part of Jurgen Klopp's system and his absence has been keenly felt.
In his absence, the Reds have been hugely disappointing, going from one disaster to another in a season that has seen them knocked out in the early stages of both domestic cup competitions and suffer their worst-ever home loss in Europe to Real Madrid.
Klopp's men currently lie 7th in the Premier League standings and while a strong end to the season could see them crack the Champions League places, their inconsistency makes it unlikely.
Klopp offers Diaz injury update
Ahead of their game with Wolves on Wednesday evening, Klopp shared an update on Luis Diaz.
"It’s estimated that maybe next week he will be warming up with the team and then maybe a week later being in team training," Klopp said.

🗣️"I can tell you the two sessions he had with us in Dubai in the training camp it was like 'oh my God, how good is that?'." pic.twitter.com/FFNWjRWRUo
"That would be cool. But you always have to wait. On Tuesday I saw a very intense session, a lot of change of directions and stuff like this. If there is no reaction from that then he can make the next step. Then I think he is not too far away."
Diaz return would be a huge boost
Having lost his electric pace and dynamism in the forward line, Luis Diaz would no doubt be a welcomed breath of fresh air for the Reds.
They have lacked that burst of pace and intensity that he provides with his high-pressure play and understanding of space
There have been some questions asked about how Klopp plans to shape his attack when Diaz returns. The possibility of fielding an attacking quartet of Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, and Luis Diaz will certainly be a scintillating prospect for Liverpool fans.
