Lookman out, Nico Williams in - Arsenal begin talks to sign Spanish youngster in the summer

The Spanish winger has caught the eye of several top clubs in Europe following his display during the Euros and for Athletic Bilbao.

Arsenal were keen on signing Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman, who has been in fine form for Atalanta this season.

However, following the appointment of new sporting director Andrea Berta, the Gunners have turned their attention to Nico Williams.

Arsenal are focused on signing Williams, which will likely push a potential transfer for Lookman to the back.

The 27-year-old's departure from Atalanta at the end of the season was announced earlier this season, sparking much speculation about his next club.

Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman still has plenty of admirers even if Arsenal decides not to pursue him.

Since joining Atalanta three seasons ago, the Super Eagles forward Lookman has been brilliant, registering 50 goals and 22 assists in 111 appearances for La Dea.
