Alexis Mac Allister set the tone early, heading home a Virgil van Dijk cross in the 15th minute before adding a second-half blast to complete his brace.

Florian Wirtz doubled the lead shortly after the opener, capitalizing on an assist from Hugo Ekitike.

Liverpool refused to take their foot off the gas after the break. Hugo Ekitike netted a swaggering solo goal in the 57th minute, followed quickly by Mac Allister’s second.

There were goals from Mohamed Salah and substitute Federico Chiesa to put a gloss on the result.

The victory ensures Liverpool bypasses the treacherous playoff round, moving directly into the Round of 16 scheduled for March.
