Liverpool’s Luis Diaz has had to endure a troubling period after both his parents were kidnapped mere hours before the Reds are due to play against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Luis Diaz’ parents kidnapped in Colombia
The Reds forward was ambushed with the news that his parents had been kidnapped in his native Colombia.
Reports emerged that Diaz’ parents were abducted by kidnappers late on Saturday in Barrancas, La Guajira.

According to reporter Vicky Davila, who broke the story, the police were doing everything in their power to ensure the release of both of Diaz’ parents.
Liverpool to play against Nottingham Forest without Diaz?
Meanwhile, Liverpool still have to prepare for the visit of Nottingham Forest in the Premier League later today, with Diaz’ participation in the match under serious doubt considering the situation.
The Colombian forward has been an important part of the Reds team since joining from Porto in 2022.
He has recovered well from a serious injury to play in 11 matches for Liverpool this season, scoring three times and providing an assist.
