Liverpool are reportedly preparing for the eventual exit of Mohamed Salah, and are said to be eyeing Belgian winger Johan Bakayo as a possible replacement.
Salah joined the Reds from Roma in 2017 and has gone on to cement himself as a club legend. However, he is of the advanced age of 31 and is attracting big money offers from the Gulf; hence, Liverpool are said to be gearing up for an exit.
A time of change at Liverpool
Liverpool are somewhat in a transition period. They parted ways with key players like Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, and Fabinho in recent years.
They have brought back Michael Edwards in an administrative role and added Richard Hughes from Bournemouth as the new sporting director. They made possibly the biggest change today, announcing Arne Slot as the new gaffer, following the exit of Jurgen Klopp.
However, Virgil Van Dijk, Allison, Trent Alexander Arnold, Andrew Robertson and Mohamed Salah remain as key figures from that era.
Liverpool target Bakayoko
The Egyptian has announced that he will be continuing beyond this season, following reports of a possible exit; however, Liverpool are already preparing for the worst.
According to Sports Zone, 21-year-old Bakayoko is seen as an ideal replacement for Salah. The Belgian has scored 14 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions for the Eredivisie champions this season.
