Keita joined Liverpool in 2018 from RB Leipzig for £52million amid fan acclaim and ofty expectations but his time at Anfield was riddled with injuries and average performances.

“A number of clubs are obviously going to be interested when a player like Naby Keita is available on a free transfer,” said Bremen head of scouting Clemens Fritz.
Werder Bremen will hope the 28-year-old can rediscover the form that made him so valuable to Leipzig and earned him the Liverpool move in the first place.
