Liverpool confirm signing of Bayer Leverkusen defender Frimpong to replace Alexander-Arnold
Jeremie Frimpong has penned a three-year contract after Liverpool activated his €35 million release clause.
The Reds' move to snap up Frimpong comes after Trent Alexander-Arnold completed his move to Spanish giants Real Madrid on a six-year deal.

Frimpong's career started as a youth player at Manchester City before joining Celtic in 2019, then moving on to Leverkusen in January 2021.

He was one of Leverkusen's best players when they won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal two seasons ago, under Xabi Alonso.
Liverpool are expected to now finalise a move for Frimpong's former teammate Florian Wirtz, and have lodged a club record bid to sign the 21-year-old.
