Florian Wirtz: Liverpool make club record bid to sign 21-year-old Leverkusen star
Liverpool have submitted a bid of up to €130m for Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz, a sum that would shatter the club’s transfer record.
The proposal includes a base fee plus add-ons and could pave the way for two deals with Leverkusen, as Liverpool are also prepared to spend £30m to secure right-back Jeremie Frimpong.
Frimpong is viewed as a done deal, as he is expected to replace the outgoing Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The offer for Wirtz indicates the Reds strongly believe the Germany playmaker will opt for a move to Anfield.
The 22-year-old has also drawn interest from Manchester City, while Bayern Munich were previously considered the frontrunners to land him. However, Liverpool have identified Wirtz as their primary target as they aim to enhance the squad that clinched the Premier League title.

The Reds are ready to surpass their previous club record, set when Virgil van Dijk joined for £75m, with Darwin Nunez’s transfer potentially rising to £85m.
This addition would bolster an already potent attack, potentially establishing Liverpool as the dominant force once more, even as rivals like Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea are expected to significantly reinforce their teams.
