"Like a f------- movie" – Megan Thee Stallion finally breaks silence on her new boyfriend Klay Thompson

Megan Thee Stallion and NBA star Klay Thompson made their much‑anticipated red carpet debut on the evening of Wednesday July 16, at the inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala at Gotham Hall. 

The gala featured high‑profile attendees such as Taraji P. Henson, who served as host of the event, as well as music stars Fat Joe, and Muni Long.

In scenes worthy of a silver‑screen romance, the couple strolled in hand‑in‑hand aboard a glamorous support of Megan’s family‑named charity.

The “Hiss” rapper, 30, looked gorgeous in a tailored black halter‑neck gown cinched by a dazzling silver asymmetric belt, while Thompson, 35, cut a dapper figure in classic black‑and‑white tuxedo.

The pair’s chemistry was bubbling on the night. 

In an exclusive interview on the red carpet, Megan described their meeting as “like a f‑‑‑‑‑‑ movie”, teasing that the encounter was “such a meet‑cute”.

 “I won’t tell you how and I won’t tell you when, but it was a movie that he’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life,” Megan told PEOPLE.

The award-winning rapper also told Page Six in equally glowing terms, “I have never dated somebody so kind.

 “This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy.

“I just never dated somebody like him before and I’m just grateful that he’s here by my side and he feels the same way about me," she added.

The gala was a heartfelt tribute to Megan’s late parents—Joseph Pete III and Holly Thomas—and her great‑grandmother, a spiritual presence she evoked throughout the night.

 The foundation’s mission is to tackle social inequity in education, housing, health and wellness, and community goodwill. 

“I feel like they can see what I’m doing right now… they’re looking down…like, ‘Yes, daughter! My daddy is like, ‘this is exactly what I knew my child was gonna do.’ They’re super proud,” Megan told PEOPLE.

Their romance first flared into public view on July 9, when Megan shared a social‑media snap of herself pool‑side, and eagle‑eyed fans spotted Thompson lounging in the background.

Megan’s post —including smooches and hand‑holding, sparked a slow build to Instagram‑official PDA moments from the Dallas Mavericks star.

Their red carpet debut comes after the pair stepped out for a dinner date Carbone, marking their first public appearance together.

Their romance has garnered a flood of fan support.
