The Libyan Football Federation announced the appointment of renowned coach Aliou Cisse as the new head coach of the national team.

Cisse, who led Senegal to victory in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, has signed a contract that will keep him at the helm until 2027.

"We welcome the best coach in Africa," the Libyan Football Federation said, expressing their excitement about the appointment.

Cisse, will replace Nasser Al-Hadhiri, who had been appointed in September 2024.

The federation announced that Cisse will be officially presented to the media on March 13 in Tripoli, marking the beginning of his tenure.

Libya is currently second in their World Cup qualifying group and will face Angola later this month. Although they failed to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
