Let's win together! Victor Osimhen calls Man City star personally ahead of potential Gala move
Galatasaray's transformative summer is exected to continue as they chase some of Europe's top talents to compete on all fronts.
The Turkish side wrapped up the record transfer of Osimhen a fortnight ago, and the striker is now reportedly helping the club recruit their top defensive target.
Victor Osimhen calls Man City's Akanji to come to Galatasaray
According to reports in Turkey, Osimhen personally phoned Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji to encourage him to make the switch to Istanbul.
Akanji, 30, has been a dependable figure for Pep Guardiola’s side, amassing over 130 appearances since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, including their treble-winning campaign.
Yet, with John Stones, Rúben Dias, and Abdukodir Khusanov ahead in City’s pecking order, Akanji is weighing his options. Galatasaray, fresh off reclaiming the Super Lig title and set for the UEFA Champions League, see him as a key addition.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the club has initiated formal talks with Manchester City, with Akanji’s agent due in Istanbul to negotiate terms.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have reportedly ended their interest in Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, and will continue the season with Brazil winger Savinho, who was linked to Tottenham.
