LeBron James responds to the unexpected news of Jürgen Klopp leaving Liverpool FC

In 2011, LeBron James and business partner Maverick Carter acquired a minority investment in Liverpool FC. 

Although that ownership was only 2% at the time, they used it to invest in Fenway Sports Group, the company that also owns the Boston Red Sox.980s.

LeBron James is one of these co-owners and has been a constant supporter of the team ever since he joined.

James sent the German manager a touching message via his social media platforms.

He wrote, "THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING AND MORE!! You are one helluva manager and you'll never be forgotten and more importantly.

"YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE!! The Reds will miss you!!"

A collection of managers stand out as the front-runners to succeed Jürgen Klopp; they are a diverse group with unique qualities.

The individuals in question are Peter Bosz of PSV Eindhoven, Hansi Flick, a free agent, and Robert De Zerbi, the manager of Brighton & Hove Albion.

But Xabi Alonso is by far the option that the fans seem to want as the successor.
