Lamine Yamal: Barcelona superstar OUT after suffering injury setback

Lamine Yamal has suffered a recurrence of a pubic area injury and is expected to miss up to three weeks of action.

The 18-year-old, who recently finished second in the recent Ballon d'Or voting, experienced a flare-up of the issue after the club’s 2-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.

This represents a severe blow for Barca boss Hansi Flick, particularly as Yamal had just returned from a similar issue, making a brief appearance off the bench in the 2-1 La Liga win over Real Sociedad last Sunday to regain fitness, before starting in midweek.

Yamal will miss this weekend's clash against Sevilla, as well as Spain’s upcoming Nations League matches, making his swift recovery a priority for both club and country.

Brazilian winger Raphinha is also struggling with a hamstring injury, which means the Blaugrana will be severely stretched in attack this weekend.

Flick's men are just one point clear of Real Madrid at the top of LaLiga and will be aiming to return to winning ways after the midweek defeat to PSG in the UEFA Champions League.
