Atletico Madrid’s interest reignited
According to Fichajes, per Football Espana, Los Rojiblancos’s interest in the aspiring Jamaica international never truly went away, and after he scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season and started this campaign with two goals and three assists, Atleti are said to be weighing up a move.
Marseille are expected to demand north of €70 million to sell Greenwood, as Manchester United retained a flexible 50% sell-on clause, which could lead to a higher cut based on his performance.
While Los Rojiblancos splurged in the summer, it is unlikely they will be able to match that fee without a major sale in their frontline. Alexander Sorloth is a potential candidate as Atletico Madrid want to keep Julian Alvarez for as long as possible.
