Kylian Mbappé: Real Madrid new signing gains over 1 million followers MINUTES after unveiling
Kylian Mbappé’s presentation at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, garnered worldwide coverage to affirm his status as one of the world’s most coveted footballer of his generation.
The 25-year-old Les Blues skipper departed Paris Saint Germain on a free transfer to fulfill his childhood dreams of playing for Real Madrid.
Pulse Sports earlier reported that Mbappé walked out to over 80,000 fans at the Bernabeu where he was welcomed with a standing ovation and loud chants.
However, less than an hour after his official unveiling where he declared his fealty to the Spanish giants, the French superstar recorded another milestone on his social media platform.
How it happened
Mbappé, the fourth most followed footballer in the world on Instagram, gained additional 1 million followers on the platform to take his tally to 120 million and counting.
Before the unveiling this week, Mbappé’s followers were at 119 million before the increase happened barely an hour after making his grand appearance at the Bernabeu.
Weeks ago, Pulse Sports reported that Mbappé also gained over 2 million followers less than 24 hours after Madrid released a statement confirming his signature.
Mbappé now becomes the most followed player at Real Madrid, having committed to a five-year deal in the Spanish capital.
The France international will now jet off for a well-deserved summer break, following a disappointing outing with the national team at the Euros.
