Kits’ unveiling fever grips Simba, Young Africans fans ahead of the new season
It’s usually the most exciting time in Dar-es-Salaam when Tanzanian giants Simba and Young Africans unveil their respective kits for the new season.
The time has definitely come, and usually, it doesn’t matter who goes first; for Simba, this season is about rebirth and reclaiming the top spot after going two straight seasons without silverware.
Simba, who have already announced Turkey as their destination for their preseason camp, have also, through their kit sponsors, The Sandaland, revealed that the new kit is already in Dar-es-Salaam

Simba is expected to make more signings before they travel to Turkey later this month.
Unlike Simba, Young Africans are yet to reveal when and where their preseason camp will be held; however, the Jangweni-based side is headed to Malawi to face Malawian champions Nyasa Big Bullets.
The match, commemorating Malawi’s 59th Independence Day celebrations, will take place in Lilongwe on July 6th 2023, at the Bingu national stadium, with Young Africans recalling some senior players for the game.
“We received a special invitation from the Government of Malawi to play a special game on the 59th anniversary of Malawi’s Independence which will be held on July 6th; it’s a great honour for the club,” said Ali Kamwe, Young Africans head of communications.
Kamwe also confirmed that the new Young Africans kit will be launched this week, including unveiling the club’s new signings ahead of the new season.
“We shall introduce our new 2023/24 season kit within this week; after introducing the kit, our head coach, Miguel Angel Gamondi, will arrive,” Kamwe noted.
“After that, we shall unveil the technical bench and begin parading our newly signed players,” he added.
The back-to-back domestic treble winners are expected to return to training next week.
