Kenya Police FC Coach Reacts to Goalless Draw Against AFC Leopards

Speaking after the match, Kenya Police FC coach Dušan Stojanović described the encounter against AFC Leopards as a demanding encounter, noting that both teams had chances to take the lead but were unable to convert.

He highlighted the competitiveness and intensity on both sides, saying the result reflected the balance of play. The coach emphasised that securing a point was a positive outcome given the pressure and quality displayed during the match.

He also praised his squad’s focus and resilience, adding that the performance showed they can handle challenging fixtures.

“That is football. We have three outcomes. You can win, you can lose, or you can play a draw. Today, we got that one point from the derby match, and we can tell that it was a tough match. Both teams were having their own chances, and it was goalless, and then due to that, a draw was what we got,” he told Azam TV.

The coach further explained that a first-half booking for Mosengo Tychick Tansele forced a tactical adjustment in the second half, as the player was at risk of being sent off for another foul.

Dušan Stojanović described the changes as necessary to manage the game effectively while maintaining balance on the field.

He suggested that the outcome reflected the closely contested nature of the match and the strategic decisions made during play.

“This is due to Mosengo Tychick Tansele getting the yellow card in the first half, and even the referee was telling him that in the next tackle, he would send him off,” he added.

“And due to that, it was a tactical change. This is football. Because of that, we love football. If we are talking about chances and converting the chances, both teams can be, you know, on one or another hand. But that is the draw, and draw it is what we got today.”

The result proved to be a pivotal result for Kenya Police FC, as the crucial point was enough to propel them to the top of the FKF Premier League table, edging out rivals Gor Mahia, ahead of their next fixture against Murang'a Seal.
