Following the triumphant title defense by UFC heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones over former champion Stipe Miocic at Madison Square Garden, fans want to know who is next for the title.
Jon Jones is expected to return against Interim champion Tom Aspinall or light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira.
Some believe that the Alex Pereira matchup is a great opportunity as it will be a super fight.
However, many are favoring the more conventional path, which is a title unification fight between Jones and Tom Aspinall.
Dana White, who formerly backed a fight between Jon Jones and Alex Pereira, suddenly appears keen for a unification matchup.
Last week, White rejected the possibility of a Pereira-Jones clash, arguing that the American is better.
In a recent podcast, Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman discussed this idea in Pound for Pound on YouTube.
He said, “Well, first of all, I disagree with you in saying that Alex Pereira is just a much easier fight. I don’t agree with that.
"If anything, Alex Pereira has shown, yes, he’s making it look sort of easy, but Alex Pereira is not that much of an easier fight.”
Dana White has yet to make a decision, therefore it is unclear if Jon Jones vs. Alex Pereira will take place.
In the meantime, Jon Jones has made it plain that he will not back down by giving the UFC chief an ultimatum.
