Juventus legend snubs Mbappe, names 2025 Ballon d'Or winner

Former Juventus star Paolo Di Canio has thrown his weight behind Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or.

The forward who has over 500 league appearances and 100 goals believes Salah has been the standout performer this season.

In an interview, Di Canio stated that there is no doubt that the Egyptian will win the Ballon d'Or award.

He said, "From my point of view, if we stop the season now, of course, there is no doubt for me, Salah would win the Ballon d'Or, Golden Ball, Salah easy."

However, Di Canio acknowledged that the UEFA Champions League could play a crucial role in the final decision.

He noted, "We know that you need to do something special in different competitions and not only in the Premier League."

Salah's impressive form this season has seen him emerge as the top scorer in the Premier League. Despite Liverpool's elimination from the Champions League, Di Canio remains convinced that Salah is the deserving winner.

The Egyptian international is expected to face stiff competition from the likes of Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe, Barcelona's Raphinha, and others for the coveted award.
