Just step away — Dele Alli slams 'selfish' Chelsea players after penalty incident
Cole Palmer scored four goals, with Jackson and Alfie Gilchrist also scoring in a 6-0 win, earning Mauricio Pochettino's team three points at Stamford Bridge.
However, an argument between Jackson and Madueke over a penalty overshadowed the victory.
Despite Chelsea captain Conor Gallagher giving the ball to designated penalty-taker Palmer, Jackson and Madueke insisted on taking it.
Alli slams selfish Chelsea duo
Alli criticized their behavior on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, referencing a previous penalty incident against Manchester United where Palmer scored under pressure.
“I think Pochettino will be really disappointed about it,” Alli said.
“The big thing about him is he cares so much about players as people as well and for them [Jackson and Madueke] to do that is kind of selfish.
“They want to get on the scoresheet – it’s good that players want to score – but do it during the game. If you are not the taker then just step away from the ball.”
Chelsea are 9th, just 3 points off the European places with a game in hand.
