Jose Peseiro is finally set to return to management, one year after leaving his role as head coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles.

According to Record.pt, the 64-year-old is expected to succeed Christian Gross as the new Zamalek manager.

This move marks the Portuguese tactician's return to Egyptian football after previously managing Al Ahly during the 2015/16 season.

Peseiro's contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) expired in February 2024, paving the way for his reported move to Zamalek.

Interestingly, Nigerian football legend Emmanuel Amuneke also has a history with 5-time CAF Champions League winners Zamalek, having played for the club between 1991 and 1994.
