Jay Jay Okocha rates Iwobi, Simon and 2 others Super Eagles most exciting players

Nigerian football legend Jay Jay Okocha has listed his nephew Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon and two other stars as the most exciting players for the Super Eagles.

Okocha revealed this during his exclusive interview with Pulse Sports Nigeria in Lagos.

The former Super Eagles captain, who was so good they named him twice, ran the rule on the current players amongst other related issues during the chat.

Okocha names Super Eagles' most exciting

The former Bolton Wanderers magician is regarded as one of the best to ever play the game from Nigeria and Africa.

Okocha was once the most expensive African player ever when he swapped Turkey for Ligue 1 Giants PSG in 1998.

He also distinguished himself at the Nigeria Super Eagles and entertained Nigerians with his dribbling, passing and free kicks.

Following his exploit with the team, the 45-year-old was asked about the current Super Eagles stars and the players who excite him the most, with his answer a straightforward.

Iwobi's Everton are battling relegation in the PL.

“(Victor) Osimhen, of course,” Okocha stated. “(Samuel) Chukwueze, i don’t know if Moses Simon is still a young boy - he's another one i like.”

“Then, of course, my nephew, Iwobi,” he added.

Super Eagles stars and their season

Of the quartet, only Osimhen and Chukwueze seem to be having an incredible season on a personal and team note.

Osimhen has been in superb form for his club Napoli as they are on the brink of winning the Serie A for the first time in 33 years.

The 24-year-old has played a decisive role in that run, scoring 21 goals this season to lead the chart in Italy.

Samu Chukwueze is a man in form for Villarreal and has contributed 11 goals this season in LaLiga.

In the Spanish LaLiga, Chukwueze is having his best season as Villarreal continue to push for a place in Europe next season.

The reverse has been the case for Okocha’s favourite duo, Simon and Iwobi, who might be playing division two football next season in France and England with Nantes and Everton respectively.
