It's your turn — Osimhen pens message to Napoli fans to begin title celebration

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has taken to his social media page to begin celebrations for SSC Napoli’s Serie a win.

Napoli are on the verge of winning their first Serie A title in 33 years after a hard-fought win over Juventus in Turin on Sunday.

Osimhen was in action as the Partenopei overcame the Old Lady 1-0 with Giacomo Raspadori the hero of the day.

In a match influenced by the VAR, Raspadori emerged as the night star following his decisive stoppage-time winner.

Osimhen was in action against Juventus from start to finish but could not add to his tally of 21 goals in the league.

He created two chances and made two assists but was outshone by his teammate who stole the headlines with a late winner.

However, the 24-year-old has already started celebrating as Napoli could seal their first win in over three decades as early as next weekend.

The Nigerian forward took to his Instagram page to pen a short message to Napoli fans, telling them it’s their turn to celebrate as Italian champions.

“Dear Neapolitans, you Have Waited Long Enough,” Osimhen’s IG post read in parts.

“Now. It’s Your Turn,” he added.

The win over Juventus saw the runaway leaders Napoli extend their lead at the top of the table to 17 points.

With seven more games to go, Osimhen and his teammates could seal the title next weekend in front of their home fans when they host Salernitana on Saturday.

However, they need to beat the visitors and hope that Inter Milan will do them a favour against second-placed Lazio 24 hours later.
