'It's Time to Deliver' - Rising Stars' Amos Wanjala Sets Sights on Big Ambitions After Joining Valencia CF
Amos Wanjala has spoken for the first time after his move to Spanish side Valencia CF, signing with the club’s reserve team VCF Mestalla.
VCF Mestalla have now bolstered their defence with the signing of the centre-back, who joins the club after a stint with Athletic Club de Torrellano, where he gained experience in Spain's Tercera Federación.
Amos Wanjala will be out to make a mark with the club and has expressed his excitement and confidence about what lies ahead.
Amos Wanjala Speaks Out After Signing with Valencia CF
"I am very happy to be here at Valencia CF. It's a great club with a rich history," Wanjala stated in an interview with the club.
"The Valencia CF Academy is a fantastic academy. This is a huge opportunity for me, and I want to make the most of it and achieve great things with Valencia CF."
Having already met his new teammates, Amos Wanjala is eager to contribute on the pitch. He describes himself as a "calm and composed centre-back, who is solid and has good passing ability."
Already familiar with Spanish football from his time at Torrellano, Amos Wanjala also brings international experience to the squad, having earned caps for Kenya's senior national team.
"I am thrilled to be able to represent my country here in Valencia. It's an achievement for my country, for myself, and for my family. I know my family is very happy; they have been with me throughout this entire journey," he explained.
"It's time to deliver, and I am very happy to be here. I know many Kenyans are looking forward to seeing me at Valencia CF, and this is the moment. I am completely focused on the team."
VCF Mestalla currently compete in Segunda RFEF, Group 3, sitting 12th in the 18-team table with 24 points from 20 matches.
They are set to face Alcoyano on Saturday, 31 January, at their state-of-the-art training facility, Ciudad Deportiva de Paterna.
