Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo backed his team to triumph over England, stating that they are not wary of the talented players England have amongst their ranks, specifically the star of LALIGA: Jude Bellingham.
Exceptional Olmo for Spain
Olmo has been one of the standout players in the competition so far. Initially Pedri's spare, his first start in the competition came in the third group stage game, in which the Barcelona midfielder was rested.
However, when Pedri sustained an early injury in the quarter-final against Germany, Olmo came on to great effect. He started the semi-final against France and is expected to get the nod in the final against England.
Despite only starting two games, Olmo is a joint-top scorer in the competition with three goals. He assisted in his first start against Albania and scored in three consecutive games against Georgia, Germany and France.
What Olmo said
Asked about the danger the likes of Bellingham posed ahead of the final, the Leipzig midfielder remained bullish, stating that they do not fear the Real Madrid man.
“I’m not afraid of Jude Bellingham,” Olmo said, per GFNS. “Like Morata, he is a reference. Football goes through his boots. Like others, he is a player to keep in mind. Bellingham is always in the middle of everything but we are not afraid of anyone.”
Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal shared similar sentiments as Olmo. He believes that if Spain play their football, no team can beat them.
