'I'm a little cautious' - Learn from Zirkzee and Højlund, Berbatov warns Sesko about Premier League
The Slovenian recently completed his move to Manchester United after a long transfer saga.
The Red Devils unveiled their new striker today, having signed him from RB Leipzig for over £70 million.
What Berbatov said
"I'm excited about his arrival at United, but at the same time, I'm a little cautious. Zirkzee and Højlund both performed brilliantly at their previous clubs.
"I watched how they moved, how they handled defenders, how they scored goals, but after arriving in the Premier League, they found it difficult to adapt. And the statistics reflect that.
Three goals, four goals. For a striker, you'll be disappointed in yourself," Berbatov commented, as reported by Sportal.
"It's not easy. Is it the pace, the new team, the new environment, the high expectations? Of course, there are many other things you have to do as a striker, but ultimately it comes down to the goals you score.
"It was a tough campaign for them. When a new striker is bought, you start to wonder if you're going to play, if you have a place at the club, or if you need to look for a new one.
"But there's another scenario, where you start to think, 'I like the competition, now I'll show you what I can do, I'll fight for my place.' That can motivate them," added the Bulgarian legend.
